Alberta Issues 295 PNP Invitations in Latest Series of Targeted Immigration Draws

The Alberta Advantage Immigration Program (AAIP) has continued its proactive push to address labour shortages across key sectors by issuing 295 Invitations to Apply (ITAs) over the course of six targeted draws held between April 29 and May 8.

The draws, conducted under multiple immigration pathways, reflect Alberta’s commitment to supporting its healthcare system, revitalizing rural communities, and bolstering priority industries including agriculture, aviation, and construction.

Diverse Immigration Streams Targeted

AAIP draws during this two-week span focused on six distinct pathways:

The Rural Renewal Stream led the way with 165 invitations, marking the second-largest draw of 2025 for this category. The lowest cut-off score recorded across all draws was 51, under the Express Entry – Aviation stream.

Healthcare and Priority Sectors in Focus

Healthcare workers were invited through both Express Entry and non-Express Entry aligned streams, underlining Alberta’s continued need for professionals in the sector. Meanwhile, Alberta’s first draw of the year targeting construction workers was also conducted—signaling increased activity in the infrastructure sector.

Draws targeting aviation and agriculture professionals also show Alberta's strategic intent to attract talent in industries essential to the province’s economy.

Program Capacity and Progress

For 2025, Alberta received 4,875 federal nomination spaces—a sharp 50% decrease from 2024’s total of 9,750. Despite the reduction, Alberta has moved swiftly to distribute nominations where needed most.
