British Columbia Issues New Invitations Under Entrepreneur Immigration Streams

The British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program (BC PNP) has once again invited foreign entrepreneurs to apply for permanent residency under its Entrepreneur Immigration (EI) streams, reinforcing the province's ongoing focus on business-driven immigration.

In the latest draw held on 28 May, BC PNP issued up to 14 Invitations to Apply (ITAs) across its two EI streams:

These invitations were extended to candidates based on various factors, including plans to establish a new business or purchase an existing one in B.C.

Ongoing Entrepreneur-Focused Activity in 2025

This draw marks the eighth round of entrepreneur nominations in 2025, highlighting a consistent focus on business immigration. In contrast, the province has held only one skills-based immigration draw this year, suggesting a strategic pivot toward entrepreneur-led growth.

How Candidates Are Selected

The EI Regional Stream typically conducts monthly draws for candidates referred by a participating community. Meanwhile, invitations under the EI Base Stream may be issued based on:

• Registration score

• Targeted business location and population

• Type of business (new or existing)

• Alignment with B.C.'s priority sectors

While score-based invitations continue, BC PNP notes that these may be limited to manage processing capacity and maintain focus on high-priority profiles.
