Canada Holds First Express Entry Draw In Over A Month - Here's All You Need To Know.

September 19, 2023 - Canada has resumed its Express Entry draws after a one-month hiatus, bringing new hope to aspiring immigrants. Express Entry draw 263, which took place today, invited 3,200 candidates from all categories to apply for permanent residence.
The last Express Entry draw before this pause occurred on August 15 and was also an all-program draw, issuing invitations to 4,300 candidates without category-specific restrictions. To be eligible for that draw, candidates needed a Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of 496 or higher.
Express Entry draw 263 saw a minimum CRS score requirement of 531 points, making it the second-highest CRS score threshold in the program's history. The only draw with a slightly higher CRS score requirement was held on August 23, 2022, at 533 points.
Unlike previous draws that were dedicated to specific immigration programs, this draw had no program specified. As a result, invitations to apply may have been issued to candidates from the Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP), Canadian Experience Class (CEC), Federal Skilled Trades Program (FSTP), and Provincial Nominee Program.
While this draw featured a higher CRS score requirement, the number of invitations issued was lower compared to the previous draw held on August 15.
