During the visit, Prime Minister Carney unveiled a new Canada-India Talent and Innovation Strategy, aimed at strengthening collaboration in education, technology, and research.

A major focus of the initiative is expanding opportunities for Indian international students and skilled professionals, who already represent one of the largest and fastest-growing groups entering Canada.

Carney emphasized that Canada intends to “build on the success” of the Indian student pipeline, which has helped universities, startups, and technology companies attract young, skilled talent.

The two leaders also announced new energy and investment agreements, signaling a broader economic partnership between the countries.
