IRCC Continues Invitations with 670 Candidates in Sixth December Express Entry Draw.

Immigration Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) has maintained its active selection process in the Express Entry system, extending invitations to 670 candidates in the latest category-based selection draw focused on transport occupations.
The recent draw required candidates to obtain a minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of 435 to be eligible for an Invitation to Apply (ITA), emphasizing the significance of professionals in the transport sector for Canadian immigration.
This draw marks the third within this week, following the trend of consecutive selection rounds by IRCC. Preceding this, the department conducted two other draws this week: an all-program draw on December 18 inviting 1,325 candidates with a minimum CRS of 542 and a category-based draw for trades occupations on December 19, inviting 1,000 candidates with a minimum CRS score of 425. Notably, this year saw two draws targeting trades occupations, with the first occurring on August 3, inviting 1,500 candidates.
Last week, IRCC conducted three draws, emphasizing its commitment to selecting skilled candidates across various occupational categories. These draws included a category-based selection for STEM occupations on December 8 (5,900 candidates with a minimum CRS of 481) and a category-based draw for French language proficiency on December 7 (1,000 candidates with a minimum CRS of 470). Additionally, there was an all-program draw on December 6 for candidates with a minimum CRS of 561, marking the first draw after a hiatus of over a month.
The pause in draws sparked speculation, with IRCC acknowledging an IT issue affecting candidates attempting to upload their final application after receiving an ITA through the Express Entry profile builder on November 14. Despite resolving the issue on November 16, the resumption of draws was delayed, prompting varied speculations about potential reasons for the hiatus.
Possible causes for delay include meeting targets outlined in the Immigration Levels Plan, technological challenges, administrative changes, or updates to the Comprehensive Ranking System.
