Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) has opened the month’s invitation rounds by issuing 356 Invitations to Apply (ITAs) to Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) candidates on 7 July 2025. Candidates needed a minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of 750 and had to have created their Express Entry profile before 04:09 a.m. UTC on 19 March 2025.
Why this draw matters
First draw of July: It comes two weeks after the last round—a Canadian Experience Class (CEC) draw on 26 June—and continues the alternating PNP-then-CEC pattern IRCC has followed since mid-May.
Program-specific focus: Because all invitees already hold a provincial nomination, they each receive an automatic 600-point CRS boost, explaining the higher cut-off score compared with recent CEC rounds.
Snapshot of 2025 Express Entry activity
Date (2025) | Round type | ITAs | CRS cut-off |
8 Jul | Canadian Experience Class | 3,000 | 518 |
7 Jul | Provincial Nominee Program | 356 | 750 |
26 Jun | Canadian Experience Class | 3,000 | 521 |
23 Jun | Provincial Nominee Program | 503 | 742 |
12 Jun | Canadian Experience Class | 3,000 | 529 |
10 Jun | Provincial Nominee Program | 125 | 784 |
(Abbreviated list; full log available on IRCC’s “Rounds of invitations” page.)
Year-to-date totals and trends
42,201 ITAs have been issued so far in 2025, with PNP-specific draws (12) outnumbering all other round types.
Since mid-May, IRCC has alternated between CEC and PNP draws, with only one category-based selection (Healthcare and Social Services) breaking the pattern. This has gradually reduced the number of profiles in the 600-plus and 501-to-600 CRS ranges for the first time in six months.
What candidates should watch
Potential July cadence: If the recent rhythm continues, a CEC or category-based round could follow within days.
Pool management: High-scoring PNP nominees remain competitive, but CEC candidates in the high-400s / low-500s range should monitor their scores and ensure profiles stay up to date.
Provincial strategies: Provinces may tweak their nomination streams to target occupational shortages throughout the fiscal year, so staying alert to program updates is essential.
IRCC posts official instructions for each round on its public “Rounds of invitations” page as soon as a draw occurs. Candidates can review those instructions—and their own CRS scores—to gauge how close they are to the next invitation.
