Ontario’s New Employer-Led EOI System
These were the first OINP draws since the province implemented its new Employer Portal system on July 2, 2025.
Under the new rules:
Employers must submit job offers directly via the portal
Only candidates with employer-registered EOIs were considered
The system shifts the process from applicant-led to employer-led nominations
Outlook
Ontario’s targeted draws reflect its regional workforce strategy, addressing shortages in healthcare, skilled trades, IT, and food processing while encouraging settlement in Northern Ontario and smaller communities.
With nearly 500 invitations issued in a single day, the province is signaling strong momentum toward meeting its 2025 immigration targets.
