Canada’s immigration system saw an exciting update this week as Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) conducted its first education category Express Entry draw since May, inviting 2,500 candidates to apply for permanent residency.
This draw marks a major step forward for educators, with a lower CRS cut-off score than the last education category draw, giving more candidates a chance to secure an Invitation to Apply (ITA).
Draw Details
To be considered in this draw, candidates needed to:
Have a minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of 462
Create an Express Entry profile before July 9, 2025, at 4:24 a.m. UTC
The previous education category draw, held on May 1, 2025, had:
479 CRS cut-off score
1,000 ITAs issued
This means the latest draw nearly doubled the invitations while dropping the cut-off score by 17 points, a positive sign for applicants in the education sector.
