IRCC Issues 6,000 ITAs in Third-Largest Express Entry Draw of 2025

Canada continues to open its doors to skilled French-speaking immigrants.

Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) has issued 6,000 Invitations to Apply (ITAs) in its latest Express Entry draw held on October 29, 2025 — marking the third-largest draw of the year.

This latest selection targeted candidates with French-language proficiency, requiring a minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of 416. Eligible candidates needed to have submitted their Express Entry profiles before 3:27 p.m. (UTC) on September 8, 2025.

French-Language Candidates Lead 2025 Invitations

The October 29 draw reinforces IRCC’s continued focus on attracting French-speaking talent to strengthen bilingual communities across Canada, particularly outside Quebec.

So far in 2025, candidates with French-language proficiency have received the highest number of invitations — a total of 36,000 ITAs — more than any other category this year. This aligns with Canada’s commitment under the Official Languages Act, which promotes French-speaking immigration as a national priority.

Busy October for Express Entry

October alone has seen seven draws, including recent selections for the Canadian Experience Class (CEC), Provincial Nominee Program (PNP), and healthcare occupations. The current French draw follows:

October 28: Canadian Experience Class – 1,000 ITAs (CRS 533)
October 27: Provincial Nominee Program – 302 ITAs (CRS 761)
October 15: Healthcare & Social Services – 2,500 ITAs (CRS 472)

To date, IRCC has issued 80,485 invitations through the Express Entry system in 2025. The breakdown shows a strong focus on language and professional skills:
